Gayatri Tiffin Room Mysore

Gayathri Tiffin Room or just GTR is one of those oldest hotel located in Mysore…that defines the very taste of real South India... This is one of the iconic restaurants in Mysore…that local and most of the visitors go to enjoy their breakfast…
When I say south Indian food…Always it about…Dosas, kesari bath and idli vada…You have tasted these items in many of the hotels but the same items are very different if you have @ this place…

Gayatri Tiffin Room…is a pretty old hotel… Though the furniture set are in old style… the tasty is really different and especially the way they serve…very quick… once while going to ooty me and my friends dropped at this place…as we were running out of time and even thinking to skip the breakfast…but one of my friend forced me to stop the car at this place…even when I first entered the hotel…I was thinking only about the time…we just ordered idli vada…after having a bit…I really forgot about the time and started talking about the taste… an real home food…I just recalled my mom cooking…later we even tried Masala Dosas, kesari bath and finally coffee…. We ended up our breakfast with in 30min…and started to ooty…but I was feeling the falvour of that kesari bath…Whole my trip...

After that many a time I visited Mysore…but I couldn't make myself to visit this place…as this place is open only for breakfast…From Morning 9am to 11am…

You can also try a wide variety of South Indian breakfast items like Idlis, vada, different types of Dosas, puri’s and rice items too…

Lakshmi Nivas – K.T.Hotel (Veg) – Main Road Kalladka

.

Many  times I have visited Mangalore on different occasions, until 2009 I was not aware of hotel Lakshmi Nivas, a small hotel but very famous for coffee/tea, one of my colleague from Mangalore informed me about this hotel and about Kcoffee/Tea.

At my first visit I was thinking, why this coffee shop is so famous !!!? but after a sip of coffee…as a real coffee lover I couldn’t comment anything on this coffee…I couldn’t find much word to explain the taste of this Kcoffee….Can say the best….Since that time I didn't miss even once visiting this hotel whenever I go towards Mangalore.

Kalladka Tea or KTea as it is known is famous for the way the hotel has been making tea and coffee for more than 30 years. Coffee/Tea they serve in regular transparent glass to show the decoction –may be it tea or coffee – swirling atop the milk. The glass, in typical local fashion, would be placed inside a small stainless steel bowl with a spoon placed beside it to stir the beverage.

Few of my friends also joined me to visit this place in my recent visit, as it was lunch time we took lunch and found that not only coffee/tea, even the food was really great. The Taste / quantity / quality of the food were really great, but need to compromise on the ambiance since it’s an old traditional type of hotel.
